Technical Support Specialist (f/m/d)
About the Role
How you will contribute
- End User Support: Provide first and second level support
for all end device equipment, including laptops, desktops, mobile
devices, printers, and barcode scanners.
- Diagnostic Support: Offer first and second level
diagnostic support for the System and Network Engineering Teams and
the Service Desk, supporting the plants with issues related to
desktops, WAN, LAN, and servers. Capture and maintain site-specific
network, server, and end device documentation.
- Documentation: Create and update work instructions for new
tasks or as existing tasks evolve. Ensure all documentation is in
the proper format and stored in the location identified by the TSS
team lead.
- Global On-Call Support: Participate in the global support
on-call rotation to support various geographic DP World plants. Be
available for on-call support, answering calls promptly and
connecting to the DP World network within 10 minutes of
notification.
- Alert Monitoring: Monitor emails for alert notifications
from the service desk and resolve or escalate issues as
required.
- Change Management: Provide change management support
during the weekend when on call.
- Process Adherence: Participate in, enforce, and follow DP
World’s change, incident, and problem management processes.
Escalate issues to the Service Desk following predefined
procedures.
- Security Compliance: Adhere to DP World’s security
processes, proactively identify security issues, and escalate these
to the TSS team lead or appropriate manager. Follow DP World’s
purchasing processes, ensuring all IT equipment is properly tracked
throughout the hardware lifecycle.
- Onsite Support: Provide onsite support for new site
launches and server/network refreshes.
- Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
What you will bring
- Education: A qualification in Computer
Science or equivalent professional training and Attention to
Detail: Solid attention to detail with the ability to create and
document processes and procedures accurately.
- Communication Skills: Good verbal and
written communication skills for effective interaction with
internal IT colleagues, business leaders, and the external audit
community.
- Work Environment: Ability to work in a
busy environment with a positive approach while maintaining a high
degree of confidentiality.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent
organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding
and working knowledge of desktop hardware, operating systems, and
software.
- Networking and Server Knowledge: Good
understanding of network systems and protocols, as well as server
hardware and operating systems.
